The NEMBC has produced a flyer for emerging communities called Radio for Emerging Communities - helping your community to broadcast in your language. This has information on what community broadcasting is about, how to get involved, how to get training and how to get radio station support. All the information on the flyer is reproduced on NEMBC's emerging community website and is also available for download by clicking on the link below. The file is in pdf format which is read by Acrobat Reader. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, you can download it here.
In addition, the NEMBC has produced a handbook for community radio stations called Working with Emerging and Refugee Communities. This information is also duplicated on the website and includes advice on how to involve emerging ethnic communities in community radio and how to make contact and work with emerging communities. Organisations who work with emerging and refugee organisations are listed as are the funding bodies who can help your station.
The NEMBC will be making the flyer and handbook available in a number of languages other than English very soon. In the meantime the English versions are available for download here.
