Free Radio Training

The NEMBC's pilot New & Emerging Communities project in Victoria ended in 2004. The NEMBC is currently exploring options to renew and expand this program in other states.

The information below is no longer current, but may give you an idea of what the project involved. If you have any questions, please contact Rachael Bongiorno at the NEMBC office.

About the training
The training takes place once a week for about 4 hours over 8 weeks. You will be trained by qualified trainers and experienced broadcasters.

You must attend all training sessions. The training curriculum is similar to that covered by the AERTP (Australian Ethnic Radio Training Project).

On completing this basic training, you should be able to produce a radio program and work in a community radio environment. The training offered in this course can go towards qualifying you for a Certificate in Broadcasting (Radio).
