Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs - Workplace English Language and Literacy (WELL) Program

Purpose: To provide workers with English language, literacy and numeracy skills by making funding available for training that is intergrated with vocational training. These skills should enable workers to meet their current and future employment and training needs.
Money Available: Employers are expected to contribute at least 25% of training costs and provide regular reports.
Eligibilty: Most types of organisations may apply.

Australian Capital Territory Arts Development Funding Program - Film, Video and New Media
Purpose: To support creative development of a project or script, production of smaller projects or development of larger projects to the stage where they can compete favourably for further assistance from commercial or public sources.
Money Available: Up to $10,000
Eligibilty: Challenging or innovative projects. New media can include, but is not limited to multimedia, DVD, CD-ROM and Internet Websites. Other conditions apply.

Australian Capital Territory Arts Development Funding Program - Demonstration Tapes
Purpose: Intended to assist emerging ACT musicians to produce a high quality recording of their work.
Money Available: Up to $1,500
Eligibilty: Priority may be given to contemporary music, however all styles are eligible. Original compositions will be given preference.

Australian Capital Territory Arts Development Funding Program - Quick Responce Grants: Equipment and Professional Development
Purpose: Equipment grants are to enable the extension of local artists practice and/or reach into the community. Professional development grants are to provide professional artistic or business skill development opportunities to artists and arts organisations, for the long term benefit of the arts industry and the wider ACT community.
Money Available: Equipment: $3,000 for individuals, $5,000 for organisations. Professional Development up to $1,000
Eligibilty: Groups and organisations are required to contribute at least half of the cost of the proposed item(s).
Deadline: 20 JulyAt least 20 working days prior to the planned activity.

Centre for Australian Cultural Studies Award
Purpose: For an outstanding contribution to the quality of Australian cultural life during the preceeding year in any area of cultural endeavour. Two categories: individual and group.
Money Available: $2,000 for the individual award.
Eligibilty: Individuals, groups or institutions from the fields of art, dance, film, history, literature, music, public intellectual life, science and technology, sport, theatre or the workplace.

Department of Health and Aged Care - Grants for Projects to Promote Quality Use of Medicines
Purpose: For [promoting the quality use of medicines, with special consideration given to the areas of aged care, mental health and Indigenous health.

Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs - Community Grants Program

Purpose: Designed to help Humanitarian Program entrants and migrants to settle in Australia. It is aimed particularly at those who have recently arrived and those who are from non-English speaking countries. National Press Club - European Union Journalist Award

Purpose: To support a working visit to EU institutions and up to three specified member states. Preference will be given to applicants who are in a position to increase Australian understanding of EU affairs by having material published or broadcast.
Money Available: Airfare, living allowance plus accommodation tenable for up to 20 days.
Eligibilty: Australian journalists of not less than 5 years experience in the print or electronic media. Selection will be based on a proposal outlining an issue or issues on European intergration to be pursued during the study visit.
