The AERTP Model

Funding for this training ceased in 2005. As a result the AERTP model no longer exists; however, most of the curriculum was passed on to its successor, the National Training Program. This is administered by the CBAA training office (for more information visit www.cbaa.org.au) and the Community Broadcasting Foundation, visit www.cbf.com.au.

The NEMBC is no longer a registered training organisation, but maintains membership of the following training committees: the National Training Consultative Group (NTCG) and the Training Grants Advisory Committee (TGAC). The NEMBC is also committed to raising funds to ensure that the ethnic broadcasting sector is supplied with trainers who have received training appropriate to the needs of the sector. The 2007-2008 funding bid to the federal government includes a component for such training.

The NEMBC is aware that many of its members regard training as the lifeblood of the sector. The NEMBC strongly supports this view and continues to lobby government for support in this area.
